Layered relaxation
Get into the most comfortable position, close your eyes, take a deep breath in and out and begin to relax. Imagine you are made up of layers; it doesn’t matter how many or how thick, you decide. Then begin to relax, layer by layer. Become aware of your first layer and breathe in and out as many times and as fast as you wish until that part of you is relaxed. Then move on to the next layer. When you reach the final layer and your center, you will see you have reached something that has no form, something that exists just for itself—you have reached your core. Then reside in it as long as you feel is necessary. You might not have any thoughts at all, but if they do appear, take them to be messages you are sending yourself at a deep level. Do the exercise as often as you feel the need to. One can never relax enough.
